A Collected Man is one of the most trusted voices in independent watchmaking, known for its editorial depth and its ability to place the right watches in front of the right collectors. For their Technical series, they asked us to direct a film around the Heart Return, the third chapter of Winnerl, six years in the making, built around a jumping power reserve mechanism that has no direct precedent in modern horology. We sat down with Bernhard Zwinz in his atelier and let him walk through the calibre CW03 the way only its maker can: from the inside out, without simplification. The film exists at the intersection of watchmaking history and live mechanical explanation, the kind of content that earns its place in a collector's library.
